Mr. Phiri among other members of WfC who are members of the rural communities have been supported and trained in their various skills by WfC in order to better their lives, thereby achieving sustainable human development in the communities.

WfC has worked with the rural communities in its operational areas as well as other parts of Zambia since its inception in 1992.It has worked with five provinces namely Southern, Eastern, Lusaka and Western province covering 12 districts. And for organizational sustainability WfC offers training to members of the community in different areas which in turn empowers the people of the society, these includes advocacy, human rights training and community mobilization among others. WfC works to attain its vision through upholding its belief that a society where there is gender equality in economic, social, cultural and political aspects is close to achieving sustainable development.
