Strategic Objectives

Strategic Objective 1: Women and girls in WfC operational areas have increased access and control over productive resources, especially land, by the end of 2017

Our Targets:

  • Train 600 trainers who will, in turn, reach 71,000 direct beneficiaries  with awareness messages on women’s rights
  • Empower 720 households with income-generating activities. 479,000 people in four targeted communities will be indirect beneficiaries

Strategic Objective 2: Increased access to education and vocational skills for children and youth in Women for Change operational areas by the end of 2017

According to Zambia Human Development Report 2011, less than 10% of children have access to early education. Annually, 300,000 young people drop out of the education system without acquiring skills for personal advancement or labour market participation.

WfC will increase access to education and vocational skills via the following steps:

  • Add 100 pupils to current 43 on direct support
  • Provide early childhood care services to  330 children
  • Empower 100 youths with skills training
  • Reach 150 un/underexposed rural children with exposure visit/ ‘Teen Vision’ Programme

Strategic Objective 3: Improved quality of life for women and girls in Women for Change operational areas through access to SRH services by the end of 2017

In the remote rural areas where WfC works, many women continue to suffer and die from complications of pregnancy and childbirth. WfC will take the following steps to improve sexual reproductive health and rights for women and girls in its operational areas:

  • Train 300 community members in sexual reproductive health and rights
  • Form 50 active Safe Motherhood Action Groups (SMAGs),  reaching 26,000 community members
  • Reach 2,000 men with sexual reproductive health and rights messages
  • Reach 4,500 community members with intensive awareness programmes in the thematic areas

Strategic Objective 4: Women for Change is an efficient and effective organisation  by the end of 2017

As part of WfC’s Strategic Plan, a number of initiatives will be undertaken to consolidate the organisation’s last 21 years by building its internal capacity and developing new partnerships critical to sustainable delivery:
